When it comes to effective soil cultivation, strength, reliability and consistent working performance are essential. The Spanish-manufactured GASCON: GEA and EOS ranges of heavy duty offset disc harrows combine both European engineering and practical design features – delivering excellent soil penetration, effective residue incorporation and dependable performance across demanding farming conditions.
Designed for both primary and secondary cultivation, the Gascon range offers two distinct models to suit the requirements of farmers and agricultural contractors, from medium sized operations through to large scale cultivation applications.
The Gascon GEA Series features a rugged fixed frame design, available in working widths from 3.05m to 3.55m, with tractor requirements ranging from 100hp to 180hp – depending on conditons.
Manufactured using substantial European rectangular hollow section (RHS) steel, the GEA incorporates a 150x100x8mm main frame and 180x100x8mm disc frame. This heavy duty construction provides excellent structural strength and substantial weight for effective soil penetration of up to 108kg per disc blade – ideal for effective penetration into firm or compacted ground.
With machine weights ranging from approximately 2,800kg to 3,400kg, the GEA delivers impressive weight-to-width performance without the complexity of a folding chassis.
Standard features include hydraulic disc gang angle adjustment, hydraulic depth-control wheels, a self levelling stabiliser system and large 400/60-15.5 flotation tyres. These features allow operators to adjust cultivation intensity while maintaining consistent working depth across varying ground contours.
For larger farming enterprises and contractors requiring increased working widths and greater cultivation capability – The Gascon EOS Series offers a hydraulically folding frame, with working widths from 4.05m to an impressive 6.05m.
unlike the fixed frame GEA, the EOS incorporates a unique reinforced three stage chassis construction, distributing operating forces throughout the machine to reduce concentrated stress and provide exceptional structural integrity.
Weighing from approximately 3,830kg to 5,520kg depending on specification, the EOS delivers substantial downward force for aggressive soil penetration of up to 126kg per disc blade, providing effective cultivation in challenging conditions.
Despite its considerable working width, the hydraulic folding design reduces transport width to just 2,5m providing a practical advantage when travelling on the road or between fields or properties.
Larger 500/50-17 floatation tyres are standard, while hydraulic depth control, front and rear disc angle adjustment and hydraulic self levelling provide convenient operational adjustment. Tractor power requirements range from 110hp to 240hp – depending on the model and field conditions.
The EOS range is also equipped standard with a hydraulic drawbar adjustment and electro valves to switch between all five operational functions from the tractor seat with only three tractor hydraulic remotes.
Both ranges incorporate high-quality European 26inch or operational 28inch discs, with scalloped or plain configurations available to suit different cultivation requirements. Heavy duty 40mm square disc gang axles, long life reliable greaseable taper-roller bearings with dust and water resistant seals and protective bearing housing are designed to withstand demanding operating environment’s.
An outer levelling disc assists in filling the furrow for a more uniform level finish, while the swivel drawbar hitch improves excellent ground-following ability.
Whether choosing the straightforward strength of the GEA fixed frame or the greater capacity and hydraulic folding convenance of the EOS – GASCON offer a serious cultivation solution built for durability, productivity and long term value.
